Jen was our server and she did a Great job! The misoyaki burger and the Rolls were INCREDIBLE! WARNING! The “rolls” are NOT your traditional rolls. They are basically a giant sushi burrito, cut in half.... AND DELICIOUS! But you don’t need more than 1-2 unless you are sharing. Bob the manager was on point, checking on us all the way. This was a recommendation from a local who we just had a zip line tour with (#Don@shakazipline)! 10/10 recommended!

This is my second review of Kenji Burger, my first was in Kapaa the night before.... Alas, our Kenji Burger love story continued, completely by accident. Driving through the magical tree tunnel and winding up in the charming town of Koloa (seriously, it’s like the most idealistic island town), we found ourselves at the end of the road—and what was waiting for us? Another Kenji Burger. It felt like fate. We had planned to revisit the Kapaa location, but who were we to turn down this serendipitous opportunity? This spot had a different vibe—more of a sit-down setup with a large, partially indoor area. Our server, Jenn, was amazing, and after hearing about our spiritual burger experience in Kapaa, she seemed determined to deliver an encore performance. This time, I decided to shake things up and ordered the Hapa Burger: a glorious creation featuring Japanese BBQ sauce, bacon, cheddar cheese, sriracha pineapple slaw, caramelized onions, and, of course, 100% Kauai grass-fed beef. It came out thicker and cooked medium—perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor. The flavor explosion was unreal. The sweet tang of the pineapple slaw mingled effortlessly with the savory crunch of the bacon, creating a textural masterpiece. The caramelized onions and BBQ sauce added a smoky sweetness that elevated the buttered bun to new heights of deliciousness. The beef was every bit as flavorful as the Truffle Burger I had devoured the night before. I was in burger heaven all over again. But here’s where it gets interesting. About halfway through this culinary bliss, my taste buds decided to take a little nap—thanks to bromelain, the enzyme in pineapple that can cause numbing. No fault of Kenji (or the pineapple’s deliciousness), but it was a tiny reminder from the universe that even paradise has its quirks. So, if you’re going for the Hapa, just be prepared for a slight flavor fade if you’re sensitive to bromelain. Even with the numbing twist, this burger still ranks among the best I’ve ever had. As we walked out, we were already scheming how to fit in one more Kenji visit before we left the island. Getting the shirt next time. Kenji Burger, you’ve done it again. We are unofficially part of the fan club. If you’re in Koloa, Kapaa, or anywhere in between, don’t miss this place. Your taste buds will thank you—well, until the bromelain kicks in.

Looking for excellent local restaurants?? Go to Kenji! We enjoyed the music, the welcoming atmosphere, Saul, our server was so very kind! We chose the Poke Bowl and shared the coconut shrimp starter, so perfectly prepared ... both beautiful and delicious! Thank you for your hospitality

We enjoyed the food. Poke Bowl, Rainbow Burrito is a fun & tasty idea, coconut shrimp and fries were also just right. Outdoor and „indoor“ seating were clean and there was always a nice breeze. Restrooms were ok but could be cleaner. Service was attentive and friendly though not the fastest - we did not mind.

WOW WOW WOW!!! Do not pass up the opportunity to eat here. First of all, the service was incredible. My girl Roshayne KILLED it. She was so sweet, hilarious, and extremely helpful throughout the whole evening. We ordered our food, and within 5 minutes she brought out our 2 burgers and fries. The flavor. Oh, the FLAVOR. Both my husband and I got the Kenji burger. Definitely the best burger I’ve had in a really long time, maybe ever? The atmosphere was super cool as well. Indoor/outdoor seating options, cool vibe. If you’re looking for a good dinner option, consider Kenji!! We will most definitely be visiting again next time we come to Kauai.

Ordered to go a teriyaki burger and 2 sushi burritos. Process was great. Burritos were so delicious, we had to go in person and eat there a couple days later. We ordered another burrito and a poke bowl. Everything was fresh. Service was amazing. Wish we lived here so we can go back again!

I had the loco moco and my family had a couple of the burgers. It was delicious! Warm, juicy, well seasoned and well balanced burgers. The edamame appetizer was yummy too. Enjoyed the alfresco dining in their back courtyard with plenty of shade and ceiling fans to move the air. The staff were friendly and we were well taken care of.

I ordered a Teriyaki Cheeseburger with an egg and French fries. Smashed it super fast it was a very good burger. There was no wait time, I was seated very quickly. The service was courteous and professional they recommended I add an egg to the burger which was a great idea.
